Take the long run for science!
Much like our daily work in biomedical discovery, the pastime of running requires endurance, determination, focus, and a bit of perspiration.
This fall, the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation is getting fit while raising awareness and funds for the Hospital by participating in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge. Many MSH staff and physicians are already registered to run or walk in support of research and clinical care – and so far, they are the fundraising frontrunners!
I’m calling out to all joggers, runners and walkers to join this enthusiastic fundraising team. You can participate as an individual or get together with your lab, friends and family to raise money and complete the 5K, half-marathon or waterfront marathon.
To register please go to http://www.mshfoundation.ca/netcommunity/scotiabankmarathon. And if you would rather cheer on from the sidelines, please support a walker/runner by donating online.
Last year the Mount Sinai team raised over $40K – funds that went to supporting research here at the Lunenfeld. Let’s show our support in joining their efforts and helping to raise even more.
Hope you’re having a great summer, and happy training!
