The past few weeks have brought exciting news to the Lunenfeld, including wonderful honours for two of our colleagues. The Top 40 Under 40 winners, including Dan, were announced today in a special supplement in The Globe and Mail. Since joining the Lunenfeld in 2001, Dan has contributed immensely to the Lunenfeld’s success and impact on a global scale, and he represents Mount Sinai Hospital’s commitment to leading-edge research that improves the care and health of Canadians. This latest accolade arrives just weeks after Jeff Wrana was awarded a prestigious Premier’s Summit Award, a yearly prize given to a select group of Ontario’s outstanding medical researchers. Jeff joined the Lunenfeld in 1999, and is internationally recognized for his cancer research, innovation and leadership in biomedical science. Many of us have benefited from the robotics facility that Jeff was instrumental in developing at the Lunenfeld, and this is just one example of his scientific creativity, foresight and innovation. Both Dan and Jeff have expressed their appreciation of and admiration for their research teams. Indeed, we all reflect well in their deserved recognition!
