Claudio Monetti, research associate - (monetti<at>lunenfeld.ca)

claudioI started to work in the Nagy lab as a post-doc in 2003, when I got introduced to the amazing world of transgenics, genome engineering and ES cells. Since then I've been working on several technology-oriented projects. After much struggles and failures we succeeded in developing a site-specific DNA insertion strategy based on the integrase PhiC31. Currently I am working in several projects that involve the use of multiple recombinases such as Cre, Dre, Flp and PhiC31 to replace targeted genes and detect intersectional gene expression in the mouse. As a tech-lover I'm also taking care of the programming of the lab's automated liquid handler, that allows people to perform quantitative PCR in 384 well format in a fast and reliable way.
