Seana Nelson, graduate student - (seana.nelson<at>utoronto.ca)
I am a native Torontonian who completed my undergraduate degree with UofT’s Human Biology and Cell and System’s Biology- Molecular Biology departments in 2010. I am now a graduate student with the Institute of Medical Sciences, and have the exciting opportunity to work in the Nagy lab. My project revolves around diabetes: (1) I am making a mouse line that will allow researchers to differentiation host vs. graft insulin production after autologous islet/ß-cell transplant, (2) and am trying to expand pancreatic ß-cells in vivo.
