I joined the Nagy group in July 2010, and manage a project called 'Molecular Pathways of reprogramming- from discovery to novel therapeutics' with several collaborating labs. Using proteomics and gene expression profiling, we are investigating how a differentiated cell acquires its pluripotent state, and becomes an induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell by the addition of four factors: Oct4, Klf4, c-myc and Sox2. We fondly refer to this undertaking as “Project Grandiose”. Prior to joining the Nagy lab, I was involved in researching signaling pathways active in early mammalian cardiovascular development.
