Monika was born and brought up in India and moved to Canada after completing her PhD on "Structure-function studies of proteins". After joining Rod's lab in 2005 she took up the job of breeding and analyzing mice to understand RB role in retina development and tumorigenesis. Her mice breath a sigh of relief for a few months when she gave birth to twin girls Mansi and Prina in May 2006.
